Kurt Busch has been recognized by the Orange County Business Journal as one of the 500 most influential people in Orange County.
IRVINE, CA, December 11, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mr. Busch has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Amidst the pages of Carl Sagan's now-classic novel "Contact," Mr. Busch found traces of a future filled with possibilities, and it was in these experiences that he discovered his fascination with science and engineering. In 1993, he earned both a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences from the University of California Irvine. While earning his degrees, Mr. Busch began his career at Standard Microsystems as an engineer designing networking equipment. He recalls the great feeling of satisfaction, as well as portents of things to come, as he watched the first product he designed and built complete its journey on the assembly line. It was in that moment that he realized the true significance and capacity of his role as an engineer.
In 1995, Mr. Busch transitioned to a position as strategic marketing manager at Digital Equipment Corporation where he was responsible for the definition of next generation semiconductor devices. His group was later acquired by Intel Corporation. In 1998, Mr. Busch completed a Master of Business Administration from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University where the business plan from his capstone project enabled the raising of over $100M in capital and a public offering of SwitchCore AB where Mr. Busch had the role of president of the United States subsidiary.
Throughout the next decade, Mr. Busch continued to explore the possibilities of technology. He was granted several patents on a board variety of topics from printing to voice recognition. He authored and co-authored several articles that explored the future of computer engineering, including "Is Time Right for Fabric on a Chip?" and "Is Standardization Impeding on the Deployment of Switch Fabric Chip Sets?" Mr. Busch supervised the constant innovation in chip technology as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the high performance analog business unit at Mindspeed Technologies (NASDAQ:MSPD) and later as President, CEO and Board Member of Lantronix (NASDAQ:LTRX). In 2017, he co-founded Syntiant Corp, to further explore deep learning and semiconductor design.
Active as an assistant scout master for the Boy Scouts of America, Mr. Busch is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization and the CEO Roundtable of the University of California Irvine. He was inducted into the Henry Samueli School of Engineering Hall of Fame in 2015 and has been recognized by the Orange County Business Journal as one of the 500 most influential people in Orange County.
Mr. Busch counts his ability to form exceptional teams as one of his most critical skills, and one which has led him to the success that he enjoys to this day. He feels that a group of people with complementary skills and background can help bring about great innovation in the technology field. He looks forward to a future in which artificial intelligence technology is truly pervasive in society, especially in assisting with youth, elderly and those with disabilities. Mr. Busch hopes that his involvement only continues to propel the general population to higher standards of living through technology.
