Supported by more than 30 years of professional experience in the field of chemistry, Dr. Ambler was hired by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in 1968, following his receipt of a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Wichita State University. Initially employed as a staff development engineer of physical-chemical analysis for seven years, he was then promoted to become a project leader of physical-chemical analysis in 1975, a role he held for two years. Following this achievement, Dr. Ambler served Goodyear as a section head of physical-chemical analysis until 1980, after which he advanced to the role of a section head of applied polymerization until 1982.
Between 1982 and 1983, Dr. Ambler served as a section head of emulsion polymer process development, and from 1983 to 1986, he was a section head of physical chemistry. For the following year, he was a section head of tire characterization before becoming a department manager of analytical science. Holding the role for 14 years, he retired in 2001. During his career with Goodyear, Dr. Ambler earned a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in polymer science from the University of Akron in 191 and 1975, respectively. Likewise, he has conducted research which has resulted in a U.S. patent issued to Goodyear for a laboratory procedure for the non-destructible recovery of materials in a tire that can be recycled back into the industry. Demonstrating versatility in his profession, Dr. Ambler has also authored book chapters in "Gel Permeation Chromatography", "Liquid Chromatography of Polymers and Related Materials", and "Liquid Chromatography of Polymers and Related Materials III", and has given speeches across the globe.
