Dr. Timins is an artist, educator, and designer with more than 45 years of excellence in visual communication. As a child, she loved to draw, and realized a precocious talent for art in elementary school. Encouraged by her teacher, Sister Mary Ann Kapoch of the Sisters of Jesus Crucified, she apprenticed with a prominent Pennsylvania oil painter and attended Kutztown University, where she completed a Bachelor of Science in art education in 1973. She continued her education at Marywood University, from which she graduated magna cum laude with a Master of Arts in art education in 1976, and with a Master of Arts in psychology in 1990. Dr. Timins earned a Doctor of Philosophy in metaphysics at American International University in 1994.
From 1974 until 1977, Dr. Timins served as an art teacher for the Scranton School District. She continued her career as a production assistant for several New York-based clothing and fashion manufacturers from 1977 to 1984, including Garan, Incorporated, Marty Gutmacher, Incorporated, RRJ Industries, and Double Dutch Sportswear. In 1984, Dr. Timins became an MR/CLA supervisor for Allied Services of Scranton, a position she would maintain through 1986.
Between 1986 and 1995, Dr. Timins excelled as a home health care coordinator serving patients in the Scranton area. She was a freelance research writer and analyst, and an interior decorator for the Kurlancheek Furniture Gallery in Clarks Summit. She is a frequent contributor to professional journals, and one of her works in oil is permanently displayed inside the Empire State Building. Among other honors, Dr. Timins has been recognized with a 2001 Catherine T. Grant Award for Outstanding Educational Research Achievement and a 1995 Nightingale Award from the Pennsylvania Hospital Association.
