A former hospital administrator, Mr. Hahn celebrated close to 30 years in his field before retiring as the executive director of Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford, IN, in 1997. Serving in his role for nearly 20 years, he previously found success as an administrator at Syosset Hospital in New York. Mr. Hahn also held assistant administrator appointments at Montana Deaconess Hospital in Great Falls and United Hospitals in Newark, New Jersey.
Renowned for his work, Mr. Hahn was responsible for developing a dialysis unit for the town of Bedford. A challenging, yet very rewarding time in his career, the unit achieved great success. As a respected member of his community, Mr. Hahn has been an active parishioner of the First Presbyterian Church in Bedford, where he was elected an elder in 1984.
In 1964, Mr. Hahn obtained a bachelor's degree at Trinity University. He completed service in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. During this time he was a civil platoon commander, Mr. Hahn discovered his interest in hospital administration and applied for graduate school while still overseas.
Upon receiving his honorable discharge, Mr. Hahn graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Master of Hospital Administration in 1970. He subsequently attained the rank of lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, where he remained enlisted from 1973 to 1993. Throughout this tenure, Mr. Hahn worked as a clinical administrator for the Montana, New York and Indiana Air National Guards.
A lifetime fellow of the American College of Hospital Administrators, Mr. Hahn is also a member of his local chapter of Rotary International. Honored for his military efforts in Vietnam, he notably received a Decorated Bronze Star. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Hahn has been featured in Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
