Dr. Fredericks is a retired chemist and research and development executive with more than 40 years of innovation in his field. He attended Villanova University, earning a Bachelor of Science in chemistry in 1957 before enlisting in the U.S. Navy, where he served honorably between 1958 and 1960. In 1959, Dr. Fredericks completed a Master of Science in chemistry at Saint Joseph's University. He graduated from Lehigh University with a Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry in 1965.
From 1960 until 1967, Dr. Fredericks worked as a research chemist for GAF Corp. in Easton, Pennsylvania. Furthermore, he excelled as a research supervisor for Allied Chemical Corporation between 1968 and 1972, and joined Ethicon, Inc., in 1972 as a manager of analytical chemistry. In 1974, Dr. Fredericks rose to become the director of research services at Ethicon, Inc., and the associate director of research from 1976 to 1978. Thereafter, he maintained activity as the vice president of research and development for Surgikos between 1978 and 1979, and for Johnson & Johnson dental products in East Windsor from 1980 until 1982.
From 1982 to 1985, Dr. Fredericks distinguished himself as the senior vice president and chief operating officer of Biosearch Medical Products. Following this, he became the president of Allen Translation Service in 1985, where he would remain until his retirement in 2008. Dr. Fredericks is the author of several professional works on industrial chemistry, including "X-Ray Diffraction for the Industrial Chemist," published in 1971, and has been a frequent contributor to professional journals throughout his career.
A devout Catholic, Dr. Fredericks is a member of the Order of Malta and is active in prison ministry. In addition to his professional publications, he is the author of two books on Catholic cultural history and theology. Dr. Fredericks is the recipient of several awards from the Order of Malta and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Paterson, New Jersey, for his faith-based community work.
