She also served as the president of Virginia L. Goyer, CPA, PC, the owner of Goyer and Associates, CPAs, and the president of Lamanna and Goyer, PC, CPAs, between 1982 and 2015. Additionally, Ms. Goyer contributed for six years as a tax manager for Deloitte Haskins and Sells, beginning in 1976.
Ms. Goyer enjoyed working with numbers as much as she enjoyed collaborating with the people she has served. Deciding to specialize in tax and transaction, she planned for small businesses and high-net-worth individuals many years ago in 1993 with the establishment of Virginia L. Goyer, CPA, PC, having notably worked for over 300 clients and several employees. Ms. Goyer's success as an entrepreneur throughout her career has been predicated on her sense of integrity and caring nature.
In retirement, Ms. Goyer has maintained activity as the treasurer of the American Association of University Women's greater Rochester chapter. She was active on the board of directors and as the treasurer of the Friends of Women's Rights National Park Inc., was on the board of the National Women's Hall of Fame and was a member of the advisory board of the Rochester Institute of Technology Deferred Giving and the Salvation Army of Rochester. An alumnus of the Rochester Institute of Technology, Ms. Goyer received a Bachelor of Science in 1975 and a Master of Business Administration in 1976.
Aligned with several industry-related organizations throughout her career, Ms. Goyer most notably served as the first female president of the Rochester chapter of the New York State Society of CPAs. She also served on the organization's board of directors and as the vice president. Among other memberships, she has been aligned with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of CPAs and the Estate Planning Council.
