Dr. Manganello is renowned as a clinical psychologist and healthcare services executive with more than 50 years of innovation in the medical industry to his credit. He initially developed an interest in psychology as a biology teacher at the New York Christian Center Academy in Brooklyn in 1967. He discovered that classroom management and student relationships was a larger portion of the position than biology, and became interested in the interplay of theology and the psychology of education soon thereafter. Dr. Manganello initially pursued an education at Boston University, earning a Master of Arts in theological studies in 1970 and a Doctor of Philosophy in community and clinical psychology in 1977. In 1980 he received a post-doctoral Master of Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
From 1967 to 1969, Dr. Manganello began his career as a youth minister at Saint Paul Church in Somerville, MA, and the director and the founder of the Somerville Community Preschool. He later worked as a clinical fellow and research fellow in the department of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA, from 1972 to 1984. During this time, Dr. Manganello served as an instructor at North Shore Community College in Beverly, MA, and as a psychologist at the North Shore Counseling Center from 1975 to 1979.
Dr. Manganello additionally excelled as the president of Health Integration Services in Peabody, MA, from 1978 to 1983, and the president of Charis/Dr. Manganello and Associates from 1983 to 2004. He was also active as the president and the chief executive officer of Enginivity LLC from 2004 to 2007, for which he was marketing an IV fluid warming device that was later acquired by GE Health. He further flourished as the chairman of Provia Laboratories from 2008 to 2014 and the president of First Lexington Investments from 1993 to 2017. Since 2014, he has been a member of the national stem cell & ethics committee of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and a member of the leadership council at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Likewise, Dr. Manganello continues to find success as a business and healthcare consultant practicing independently within his region.
