PROVINCETOWN, MA, December 24, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Lyn Kratz with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Kratz celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Ms. Kratz retired in 2002 as an electronic resources librarian for the Lippincott Library of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She was hired for the position in 1996. Ms. Kratz formerly spent 26 years in communications, working for various radio stations in Pennsylvania, first WSAN-AM in Allentown, PA, (1972-75) then WMMR-FM, Philadelphia (1975-80, 1984-1996)and WIOQ-FM, Philadelphia (1980-84). Most of these years were spent doing live radio shows on rock radio stations. She also served as news director and promotions director at WIOQ. She also worked as a newspaper reporter for the Elkhart Truth in Elkhart Indiana (1970-71).
Ms. Kratz served on the Provincetown Board of Library Trustees from 2005 2015, and was the Chair for the last three year term. During her tenure, the board notably raised more than $7 million to restore the historic building in which the library now resides. Meanwhile, as a journalist and communications professional, Ms. Kratz served as a contributor to USA Today in Washington for three years between 1986 and 1989 and as an associate producer for the LP record "Breakout" in 1979.
An alumnus of Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana, Ms. Kratz received a Bachelor of Arts in 1969. She later completed postgraduate coursework at Philadelphia Wireless and Temple University before obtaining a Master of Library Science from Drexel University in 1996. She holds a license in third class broadcasting as well.
Ms. Kratz is a member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the American Library Association. A celebrated Marquis listee, she has been included in several editions of Who's Who in Entertainment, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
