Originally active as a social case worker after acquiring her bachelor's degree, Ms. Norris was subsequently hired by Indiana State University to conduct data entry work while studying toward her master's degree in counseling. Promoted several times thereafter, she worked as the supervisor of operations and programming, the assistant to the dean, a member of the banner steering committee and a consultant for the aforementioned university. Additionally, Ms. Norris excelled as a senior consultant for Sungard SCT between 1999 and 2003.
Formerly, Ms. Norris was active as the treasurer of Take Off Pounds Sensibly, Inc. in Riley, IN. A leader in her community throughout the 1990s, she served as a co-leader of the Daisy Girl Scouts and a brownie leader for the Girl Scouts of the USA in Riley. A member of the Riley Elementary School Parent Teacher Association. She has maintained her affiliation with such organizations as the American College Counseling Association, the Association of Advancement Service Professionals, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources. Moreover, Ms. Norris was also inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta.
Ms. Norris pursued her education at Indiana State University, earning a bachelor's degree in 1984 and a master's degree in 1992. She later became certified as a scrum master and scrum product owner, which enabled her to become a product manager. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Norris has been highlighted in Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who of American Women.
