Since 2014, Mr. Elieff has been dedicated to ensuring a quality education for each student that walks through the front doors at the Ann & Nate Levine Academy of Dallas, where he flourishes as the head of the school. The Ann & Nate Levine Academy is an inclusive, dynamic, Jewish day school which fosters leadership, creativity, critical thinking, and Jewish values while empowering its students with integrity, self-confidence and intellectual curiosity. Prior to embarking upon his professional path, Mr. Elieff earned a Bachelor of Arts in international relations and economics from Brown University and a Master of Arts in English from Northwestern University in 1991.
Over the years, Mr. Elieff has also served in similar positions as the head of school at the Beth Yeshurun Day School from 2008 to 2014 and the Jewish Day School of Metropolitan Seattle from 2005 to 2008. He previously worked as the notable head of the upper school at Saint Marks School of Texas from 2001 to 2005. Mr. Elieff additionally found success as the assistant head and a headmaster of Lake Forest Academy between 1986 and 2001.
For his unmatched efforts in developing educational programs for students and for inspiring young writers, Mr. Elieff was the inaugural recipient of the Inspiration Award from the American Writer's Museum in 2019. He was recognized as the Teacher of the Year at Lake Forest Academy in 1991 and 2001, and accepted a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities in 1993. Mr. Elieff attributes his success to his passion for seeing learners flourish, as his students always motivate him to be a better administrator.
Mr. Elieff firmly believes that the education of young children is one of the most important endeavors of any society. He was inspired to move into academic administration to better celebrate teachers and provide them with the conditions and the support that he knows that they will really appreciate. A long-time partner and collaborator with the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest, the National Association of Independent Schools, and Prizmah, Mr. Elieff works and lives by his motto, 'There is more day to dawn; the sun is but a morning star."
Looking toward the future, Mr. Elieff aims to embrace the possibilities of education and the global needs of the world. He hopes to continue to grow with his community, his school and the children. Never one to shy away from possibilities, Mr. Elieff wanted his kids to live what he was teaching, and so he founded a theater company in Chicago, The Theban Players, where all of his students engaged in creating masks, producing music, and scripting fresh dialogue for the Greek tragedies that they studied.
