Celebrating an incredible legal career that has spanned more than 30 years, Mr. Suhre retired in 1993 as the vice president and general counsel of Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc. in St. Louis. Very much enjoying the 10 years he spent with the American brewing company, he considers this time to be a career highlight. Formerly serving in the same capacity for EaglePicher Industries, Inc., a leading U.S. industrial products manufacturer in Cincinnati, he was also an associate with Taft, Stettinius & Hollister LLP in Cincinnati.
A visionary and leader behind numerous community initiatives, Mr. Suhre was recently active with the Patriot Guard Riders' Missouri chapter, an organization based in the U.S. whose members attend the funerals of members of the U.S. Armed Forces and first responders at the invitation of a decedent's family. He is also a past president, co-founder and current chairman of the board of directors of Focus Marines Foundation of St. Louis since 2009. The mission of Focus is to assist marines and navy corpsmen wounded in the wars of terror to successfully transition into the civilian world. Additionally, Mr. Suhre has been a volunteer and board of directors' member for the Saint Louis Zoo, volunteer at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital and the St. Louis Children's Hospital, and board of directors and chairman of Operation Food Search in St. Louis.
Mr. Suhre received a Bachelor of Science in business administration at Northwestern University in 1956, where he was affiliated with Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He then served active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps between 1956 and 1959 before spending another three years in the reserves. Deciding to return to college, Mr. Suhre, who had become fascinated by the law, acquired a Bachelor of Laws, with honors, at the University of Cincinnati in 1962. He has been admitted practice by the Ohio State Bar and the Missouri Bar.
For excellence in his career, Mr. Suhre has been recognized with a number of honors and accolades over the years. Notably, he is a celebrated Marquis listee and has been featured in more than 30 editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Law.
