NEW YORK, NY, January 09, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Nancy Stout with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Stout celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Stout is an experienced librarian who is currently working for the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. Located in New York City, it is considered the oldest psychoanalytic organization in the U.S. Hired by the institute in September 2015, she formerly spent 11 years as a reference librarian at Fordham University on the Rose Hill Campus in the Bronx, New York. Additionally, Ms. Stout has lectured on writing biographies at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota and Fordham University.

Over the past 30 years, Ms. Stout has become a widely recognized writer and photographer. Her books include "Great American Thoroughbred Racetracks"; "Havana: La Habana," which she co-authored with architect Jorge Rigau; "Habanos: The Story of the Havana Cigar," as both author and photographer; "Homestretch: A Celebration of America's Greatest Tracks" and "The West Side YMCA: A Social and Architectural Retrospective." Her most recent book, "One Day in December: Celia Sánchez and the Cuban Revolution" was released in 2013.

A biography 10 years in the making, "One Day in December" draws on interviews with Ms. Sánchez's friends, family and comrades in the rebel army, along with countless letters and documents. A challenging book to write, Ms. Stout was initially barred from the official archives but was eventually granted access by Fidel Castro. She is currently working writing a new book on the pilgrimage route, the Camino de Santiago. In addition to her own books, she has been credited with writing a review of Helen Yaffe's book "Che Guevara: The Economics of Revolution," in an article published on Fordham University's staff publications website.

Ms. Stout is very proud of her first book on Havana, which brought her huge joy. Still in print today, it documents the architecture of Havana during the Special Period. She is equally proud of the biography on Celia Sánchez. Considering it an honor to document the life of a woman who was a comandante in the Rebel Army, she often had to get permission to interview members of the Rebel Army and could only obtain clearance to use the historical archives from Fidel Castro.

Always learning throughout her career, Ms. Stout received a Master of Library Science from the Palmer School of Library and Information Science at Long Island University in Brentwood, New York, in 2004. She does her writing in writers' spaces in New York City. She has written her books at The Writers Room on Astor Place, the Writer's Studio at The Center for Fiction, and now in the Silent Zone of Fordham University's law library. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Stout has been featured in the 65th edition of Who's Who in America.
