Mr. Richard Halperin is renowned as a retired IT company executive with more than 25 years of expertise in business development and marketing. He initially pursued an education at Northwestern University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1970 including one year of credits toward an MBA in Marketing. Motivated by a desire to become financially independent, Mr. Halperin entered the burgeoning field of information technology and software solutions.
From 1970 to 1979, Mr. Halperin began his career with IBM where he held positions of increasing responsibility from marketing representative to eventually a branch marketing manager. He is proud to have been recognized for exceeding his sales quotas each year and led the entire Data Processing Division in new computer accounts in 1973 as a sales rep. He subsequently worked as the national sales manager for Kast Metals in Shreveport, LA, from 1979 to 1983, and the area director for Wang Laboratories in Rolling Meadows, IL, from 1983 to 1985. Mr. Halperin was additionally active as the vice president of sales, services, and marketing for System Software Associates from 1985 to 1989, and the senior vice president of Software Group XL Datacomp from 1989 to 1991. During his tenure at System Software Associates, the company grew from $4 million to $95 million in application software revenue, and successfully went public in 1987 with an excellent track record after the IPO.
From 1991 to 1998, Richard Halperin flourished as the president and the chief executive officer for JBA International, Inc. in Birmingham, England, when the company grew from $30 million to $360 million in application software revenue and successfully went public in 1994. He later excelled as the chief executive officer of Coherent Networks International before retiring in 1999 at the age of 51. A current and former member of the board of over 20 public and private companies, including Made 2 Manage, Interactive Intelligence, and Ultra, he has assisted these technology companies in revenue growth, mergers and acquisitions, channels, organization infrastructure, and the IPO process.
