Mr. Michael is renowned as a property manager and a real estate investor with a 40 year career in providing affordable housing in Harlem and Queens. His interest in business began as a child upon applying for a route delivering newspapers for The Long Island Press. Initially denied due to his age, he returned several times, escalating his request up to the district coordinator, who eventually started him with just one block of deliveries. By the time he departed from his route, Mr. Michael was responsible for over ten blocks, and credits the experience with developing his exemplary work ethic and sense of time management.
Subsequently, Mr. Michael earned an Associate of Arts at Bronx Community College in 1978 and a diploma from the New York University Graduate School of Business in 1980. Since 1980, he has excelled the owner and the manager of several properties throughout New York City. Mr. Michael has notably invested in real estate in Harlem when property values were low, and has made improvements to his buildings not only to increase their value, but to increase his tenants' quality of life and sense of ownership in their neighborhoods. He was also the owner of Nu-Tribe Beauty Salon in Jamaica, NY and the owner/manager of TLR LLC The Laundry Room in Harlem.
Mr. Michael was formerly active as the vice president of Adults & Youth for a Better Baisley Incorporated in Queens, New York. He is the recipient of a 2003 Family Day Award from South Jamaica Housing, and was recognized in 2006 for his record of devoted service to Paige Unlimited LLC. In his leisure time, Mr. Michael enjoys track and field sports and collecting rare books and stamps.
