Advising on issues pertaining to science and technology, he is also responsible for creating new and developing existing partnerships between French and American institutions in higher education, science, innovation and research and development. Working alongside his deputy, Dr. Seigneuric covers Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
Since 2007, Dr. Seigneuric has been an associate professor at the University of Bourgogne in France, where he teaches various courses. He is also a coordinator for a European grant through Inserm, the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research between 2010 and 2013, and has additionally served as a consultant since 2016. He is a former visiting research fellow in the computer science department at State University of New York in Oswego and Syracuse and a visiting associate professor at the Burgundy School of Business in Dijon, France. Additionally, Dr. Seigneuric was a visiting scholar at the University of Barcelona in Spain and a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands.
Studying complex systems, Dr. Seigneuric's research interests aim at integrating different levels, cutting-edge bio-sensing and measuring instruments, methods and algorithms, as well as data science and machine learning approaches on diverse datasets. His quantitative, translational approach is devoted to cancer detection and treatment with a focus on concrete applications for patients. He notably holds six patents with two more pending. As a result of his research, Dr. Seigneuric has authored and co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed, scientific articles to scholarly journals. He has also served as reviewer for the International Journals of Nanomedicine since 2011.
Before embarking upon his professional journey, Dr. Seigneuric pursued an education at the University of Grenoble in France, receiving a Doctor of Philosophy in medicine and biology in 2000. Following this achievement, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in biomedical engineering at the University of Montreal in 2001. Dr. Seigneuric later acquired a Higher Degree of Research in oncology, genetics, hematology and immunology at the University of Burgundy in Dijon, France, in 2017.
In his civic endeavors, Dr. Seigneuric has contributed his time and resources by teaching as a volunteer STEM instructor at the Academy of Dijon. He has also been instrumental in his community as a head baseball coach and umpire with the French Federation of Baseball and Softball. In 2017, Dr. Seigneuric was the recipient of a Research Award in Norway. He also received a 2012 MATWIN Prize in France.
