    DENVER, CO, January 17, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present John Ewing Archibold with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Archibold celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Mr. Archibold, a retired attorney, born in Denver, Colorado in 1933, is a 1955 A.B. graduate of Princeton University [cum laude], a December 1959 LL.B graduate of the University of Denver College of Law [first in class], and 1965 LL.M graduate of Georgetown University School of Law.

In 1958, he was the youngest candidate for the Colorado House of Representatives and the only candidate for any political office in Colorado who was endorsed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower whom the President had first met 20 years earlier. He was also endorsed by the Rocky Mountain News. None of the seventeen Republican candidates for the Colorado State House of Representatives was elected in 1958.

Following his graduation from the University of Denver College of Law, he accepted the position of Special Liaison Assistant in the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. in 1960. Thereafter he became an attorney in the Civil Rights Division and the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice where he served under the administrations of Attorneys General William Rogers, Robert Kennedy, and Nicholas Katszenbach. Mr. Archibold resigned from the Department of Justice in early 1966 and returned to Denver where he was engaged in the practice of law for the next 36 years. Twenty of those years were in the public sector as Associate General Counsel for two years and then as Chief General Counsel for eighteen years at the Colorado Public Utilities Commission. In the private sector he served as an associate in the law firms of Grant, Shafroth, Toll, and McHendrie; as a partner in Casey, Klene, Horan and Archibold; and as Of-Counsel at Kelly, Stansfield, and O'Donnell.

Providing his time and expertise to the community, he was a precinct committeeman for the Denver Republican party, an election judge, Chairman of the Citizenship Day Committee in Denver and a member of board of directors for the Rude Park Nursery. In 1976 he spearheaded the first dissolution, in the 20th century, of an Episcopal parish (St. Mary's in Denver) from the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America. He was the first Chancellor of the Diocese of the Holy Trinity and the first Chancellor of its parent body the Anglican Catholic Church in America. He and his wife were received into the Roman Catholic Church in 1995 and have been active in a number of lay ministries.

In 1967 Mr. Archibold, in conjunction with a number of interested citizens, founded the Colorado Joint Council on Medical and Social Legislation in response to the passage of Colorado's first liberal abortion law. It was the first Pro-Life organization in the United States.
Mr. Archibold served in the Judge Advocate General Corps of the U.S. Army Reserves, retiring as a Colonel in 1995.

Born and raised in Denver, Mr. Archibold was inspired to pursue a career in law by his grandfather, John A. Ewing, and great-grandfather, George G. White I, who were both attorneys. ln fact. his great-grandfather was one of the authors of the Colorado Constitution when Colorado became a state in 1876. To remain aware of developments in his field, Mr. Archibold has been a member of both the Colorado Bar and the Denver Bar Associations. A celebrated Marquis listee. he has been featured in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who in Finance and industry.
