Mr. Jones is a retired corporate lawyer and business executive. Prior to beginning his professional career, he served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1960 until 1964. Upon returning to civilian life, he attended Temple University, graduating as a President's Scholar with a Bachelor of Arts degree (magna cum laude) in Political Science. Continuing his academic efforts, Mr. Jones completed both a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School and a Master in Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School in 1972.
After completing his formal education, Mr. Jones served as an entertainment attorney for Walt Disney Productions in Burbank, California from 1973 until 1977, transitioning to become Assistant Treasurer in 1977 and Treasurer from 1979 to 1981, departing to enter private practice from 1981 to 1983.
Mr. Jones then joined Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. in 1983 as a staff attorney, rising to the position of Vice President and Corporate General Counsel that same year and to Senior Vice President in 1986. He became Executive Vice President and General Counsel in 1991 and Senior Executive Vice President in 1996, a position he held until he retired in 2005.
Mr. Jones has served on the boards of directors of numerous corporate and professional entities, including Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., Pathe Communications Corp., The Nostalgia Network, Motion Picture Association of America, Motion Picture and Television Fund, California Chamber of Commerce, and Institute for Corporate Counsel. He has also served as Trustee of educational Institutions such as Marlborough School and Flintridge Preparatory School and as Vice Chairman of the Board of Visitors of Temple University College of Liberal Arts.
