Dr. Galleher has built a sterling reputation in clinical psychology ever since she earned her license to practice in 1990. Before embarking on her professional journey, she studied learning disabilities and earned a Master of Science from the University of the Pacific in 1976. After managing a clinic in San Francisco for a number of years, she redeveloped her focus and pursued a Master of Science in psychology from Palo Alto University, during which time she completed research at both the San Francisco Psychotherapy Research Group and Langley Porter Neuropsychiatric Institute. Dr. Galleher departed from academia with a Doctor of Philosophy in psychology in 1988, subsequently opening a private practice across the country in Maine.
Continuing her career, Dr. Galleher accepted a position as a civilian contractor for the United States military in 2001, attending to the mental health concerns of families of airmen in Lakenheath, England. Subsequently, she obtained her board certification to practice psychology in 2003. Reconnecting with the military in 2008, she contributed her services in psychotherapy for the families of soldiers stationed in Baumholder, Germany. In 2018, Dr. Galleher was further associated with the military, maintaining the position of clinical psychologist for Eielson Air Force Base.
In the course of her professional endeavors, Dr. Galleher contributed numerous writings to the field of mental health, including her dissertation on father-infant attachment. She has been affiliated with such groups as the American Board of Professional Psychology, the National Register Health Service Providers, and the San Francisco Psychotherapy Research Group. With an eye on retirement, Dr. Galleher plans to conclude her professional career in the near future so she can dedicate herself full-time to artistic pursuits.
