Before pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Levitzky earned a Bachelor of Science in medical sciences and English at the University of Wisconsin in 1963. She later obtained a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois' Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine in 1967. Soon thereafter, Dr. Levitzky became certified in pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics.
In recognition of her professional efforts, Dr. Levitzky has been recognized as a Top Doctor in the New York Metro Area by Castle Connolly between 1999 and 2008 as well as in 2010, 2013, 2015, and 2019. Additionally, she was presented with a Distinguished Service Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2002 and an Appreciation Award for more than 18 years of support from the UJA Federation of New York in 2016.
