BELLEVUE, WA, January 24, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jeanne Marie Koreltz Elliott with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Elliott celebrates many year's experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Elliott has led a distinguished 50-year career in aircraft cabin safety and accident prevention. She worked for the Federal Aviation Administration during the mid-1970s as an air carrier cabin safety specialist, an unprecedented position, where she was responsible for developing the safety role of flight attendants in the areas of crashworthiness and survivability. She promoted cabin safety inspections as a standard in the field. As she continued to advance in her career, she represented the FAA Air Carrier Division before various U.S. Congressional hearings; participated with regulatory teams that formed the basis for promulgation of regulations that directly impact the flight attendant, cabin safety and occupant survival; worked to develop improved cabin interiors with industry and governmental agencies; and championed flight attendant concerns surrounding security and personal protection issues in the wake of 9-11, among other achievements.
Ms. Elliott has represented flight attendants throughout her career, with four air carriers (through mergers), in the areas of: aircraft cabin safety, accident prevention, aviation security, crew training and emergency response, incident / accident investigation and regulatory reform. In the wake of 9-11, she championed flight attendant concerns surrounding security and personal protection issues and was instrumental in bringing cabin defense training to over 10,000 cabin crewmembers.
She was also instrumental in bringing voluntary safety reporting by means of the FAA's Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) to the 20,000 flight attendants of Delta Air Lines, allowing for a non-punitive process to report safety concerns and needed improvements.
As a cabin safety specialist, Ms. Elliott has lent her expertise as a contributing editor and author of a number of aircraft cabin safety publications, technical papers and significant industry safety standards. She continues to serve as a contributing editor of Flight Safety Information, an online newsletter published through Curt Lewis & Associates, since 2014.
Ms. Elliott attended Arizona State University between 1965 and 1968. While at ASU, she held a part-time position in the aviation field where she explored various technological advancements and was eventually hired by an airline that exposed her to airline operations and other aspects of aviation and crewmember safety. Ms. Elliott later participated in the aviation safety management systems program at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1995. She is a certified cabin crew member through the U.S. Department of Transportation and the FAA, a certified Air Carrier Aviation Safety Inspector through the FAA and is certified in survival factors in aviation accidents through the National Transportation Safety Board's Academy.
To stay abreast in her field, Ms. Elliott is a member of the International Society of Air Safety Investigators, serving as an officer of the Pacific Northwest Regional Chapter. She has been or currently a member of the Survival and Flight Equipment Association, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, the Southern California Safety Institute, SAE International's Aircraft Division and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters' Airline Division.
In recognition of her many successes in the field, Ms. Elliott has received multiple awards. She recently received the distinguished 'Safety Activist Achievement Award' from the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, a Dedicated Service Award of Employee Involvement Group as Chair of the Health and Safety Committee from Delta Air Lines for service 2012 and 2014 and a Special Recognition for Contributions to Delta's Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) from Delta Air Lines in 2013. Among other awards, she notably received the prestigious 'Annual Air Safety Award' from the Air Line Pilots Association and the Association of Flight Attendants on three occasions (2015, 2008 and 1971).
Other distinguished recognition has been awarded Ms. Elliott, including: Corporate Safety Team Excellence Award, Northwest Airlines (2008); Northwest Airlines 'Award of Excellence' for consistent and exemplary performance in pursuit of excellence (1995); SAE Outstanding Service Award, Cooperative Engineering Program, Society of Automotive Engineers (1991-1993); and Achievement Award for Job Performance, U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, Flight Standards Service, Washington, DC (1976).
In 1972 the Arizona Safety Council of the National Safety Council presented Jeanne Marie Koreltz Elliott with their Annual Award recognizing her contributions to the cause of accident prevention. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Elliott has been included in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the West and Who's Who of American Women.
