L. Gene Marsolek Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

His father, Paul Marsolek, owned a hardware and appliance store, where he had worked as a manager in his youth before pursuing his career in manufacturer representation. Mr. Marsolek initially enrolled at the University of Colorado in 1965 before serving with the Colorado Air National Guard, stationed in Korea, between 1965 to 1969.

Mr. Marsolek managed Marsolek's Hardware & Appliance Store from 1961 to 1965 as well as from 1967 to 1968. He later served at the John Brickell Company of Denver from 1970 to 1974 as a manufacturing representative, and established his own company in 1975. He found success as the owner and the president of L. Gene Marsolek Company, Incorporated, from 1975 to 2016, during which time he founded and marketed the American branch of a German decorative items manufacturer, JADO. Taking JADO from its beginning to an l valuation between 20 and 30 million dollars was a highlight of Mr. Marsolek's career. Furthermore, Mr. Marsolek was a member and past president of The Association of Independent Manufacturers/Representatives, Inc.

Mr. Marsolek is passionate about ending tobacco use and tobacco-related diseases, having lost his wife to COPD. He has a website www.stoptobaccofarming.com dedicated to this cause. He believes with 480,000 people per year dying from and 16 million suffering from tobacco-related diseases, it is time to take action. The United States should pass a law that would outlaw farming tobacco and place a complete trade embargo on tobacco, tobacco products and tobacco derivatives (nicotine).
