Mr. Dwight Peirce was presented the Arts Award for Outstanding Achievement from the Southeast Texas Arts Council, the Orpheus Award from the Lamar University and a Service Award from Lamar University.

Supported by more than 40 years of professional experience, Mr. Peirce has excelled as a musical instructor at Lamar University since 2015. Prior to this appointment, he served the role of a lecturer in accompaniment at the aforementioned institution from 1982 to 2015. Earlier in his career, Mr. Peirce contributed as an assistant professor with Howard Payne University between 1977 and 1981. He also briefly worked as an adjudicator for the Louisiana Music Teacher Association Toborinsonal Swanzy Competition in 2011.
In addition to his primary endeavor, Mr. Peirce has been a piano accompanist for the Brilliance Concert Series and an organist for Temple Emmanuel since 2001. An expert in piano collaboration, he contributed as a pianist with the Beaumont Symphony Orchestra in Texas from 1982 to 1990. As a musician, Mr. Peirce has performed live at several international locations including the Church San Moise Venice, The Pontifical of St. Michael in Madrid, Spain and during the UMC Choir Tour Spain.
One of the proudest moments of Mr. Peirce's career is the final solo recital he performed in his hometown during July of 1981. This highlight was significant because many of his supporters and inspirational figures such as his high school music teacher Cora Lewis Creech, childhood friends, and parents were in attendance. The performance is fondly remembered by Mr. Peirce as the perfect culmination of his professional solo journey.
A graduate of the Cincinnati College Conservatory, Mr. Peirce earned a Bachelor of Music in 1969 and a Master of Music in 1972. To remain knowledgeable of trends in the music industry, he maintains his affiliation with the American Guild of Organists and the Texas Music Educators Association. In light of his exceptional undertakings, he was presented the Arts Award for Outstanding Achievement from the Southeast Texas Arts Council, the Orpheus Award from the Lamar University, and a Service Award from Lamar University. Outside of his career responsibilities, Mr. Peirce enjoys collecting records, reading, watching films, listening to opera, and photography.
