Ever since he was a child, Mr. Brown knew that he would pursue a career in the oil and gas industry. His grandfather dropped out of high school to work in the oil fields and support his family. Through his hard work and dedication, he eventually started his own oil company, where his father and Mr. Brown worked as well.
Today, Mr. Brown serves as the president of MineralTracker and Krown Energy Group, a family of companies founded to support the mineral owner community of western North Dakota through the pairing of industry expertise and innovative technology. Previously, he excelled as the project manager for McKenzie Energy Partners from 2016 until 2018, and gained valuable experience working on oil and gas acquisitions and divestment teams as a reservoir engineer for MBI Oil & Gas, Formation Energy, and Wave Petroleum.
In 2013, Mr. Brown earned a Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering from the University of North Dakota. He retains his professional affiliation with the Society of Petroleum Engineering in order to remain aware of changes in the field. During his spare time, Mr. Brown devotes his time and resources to his community through his work as the president of McKenzie County Job Development Authority, treasurer of the Save the Maah Daah Hey nonprofit board, a contributor to the Rough Rider Fund Committee, a member of the Rough Rider Center Advisory Board and a member of the McKenzie County Skills Initiative Industry Advisory Council.
In 2019, Mr. Brown was also elected to the board of directors for the North Dakota District 39 GOD Executive Board. He was further active as a deacon of the Watford City Assembly of God's church board. Previously, he was associated with the University of North Dakota's Petroleum Engineering Industry Advisory Council. Looking toward the future, Mr. Brown intends to be addressing the incredible unmet need in mineral ownership in McKenzie County.
