Having accrued more than 40 years of experience in the field of mechanical engineering, Mr. Pielach has developed an inimitable expertise in automotive parts design and manufacturing. Inspired by his father, a repairman who worked with specialized bowling equipment, the younger man attended Macomb Community College, from which he earned an associate's degree in fluid power in 1974 and an associate's degree in machining technologies in 1975. Following these accomplishments, Mr. Pielach completed a bachelor's degree in engineering at California Coast College in 1992.
From 1983 until 1987, Mr. Pielach served as a development engineer for Uniroyal Tire Company, rising to become a design engineer between 1989 and 1992. From 1992 until 1993, he continued his career as a senior design engineer for Precise Technology and Electronics, and a CNC grinder engineer for National Broach and Machine Co. from 1994 to 1999. He joined Robomatics as an aerospace robot engineer between 1999 and 2001, and contributed from 2001 until 2012 as a senior engineer working on NVH machines and axle line automation for Advanced Systems and Controls. Since 2012, Mr. Pielach has been a project engineer for Heigenscheidt working on crankshaft rolling machines and 5-axis CNC lathes.
Mr. Pielach's technical developments include a trade-secret tire uniformity machine, rim, and spindle assembly, and precision spindles for torque measurements. He is a lifetime member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the Society of Automotive Engineers. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mr. Pielach enjoys such diversions as bicycling, camping, backpacking, building models, and metallurgy.
