MAKAWAO, HI, February 11, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Loren Adams with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Adams celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Loren D. Adams, Jr. is internationally renowned as a visionary artist with artworks in important collections and museums in nine countries.

His first formal exhibition was at the Roseville Center Museum in Roseville, California in 1967. This was the same year he quit nursing school and resigned his day job as an emergency room LPN at Roseville Community Hospital to become a full time artist. He never looked back.

Even though his professional career began 53 years ago, he recalls being recognized with exceptional talent for visual arts in kindergarten in 1951. He had a natural propensity to sit and draw and paint throughout his early childhood, and in 1959 he rendered a large mural in colored chalk of the Hoover Dam and the Colorado River in his eighth grade classroom on the entire blackboard; it was left there for the entire school year at Del Rosa Secondary School in San Bernardino, California.

His art education began in 1961-63 with a correspondence course through Famous Artists Schools in Westport, Connecticut. He began studies in Theology at The California Missionary Baptist Institute of Theology, in Bellflower, California in 1963, transferring to their Sacramento, California campus a year later in 1964 when and where he also attended nursing school at Sacramento City College, and worked at three different hospitals until his early retirement in 1967. His supervisor asked him if she could purchase one of his paintings after seeing his exhibition at Roseville Center Museum. He agreed to sell her the painting, then went directly to The Director of Nursing and resigned. He also left CMBI, and his Theological studies the same week to join a group of traveling artisans to do art shows at shopping centers throughout the Southwest.

Being self-taught is an understatement to a young man who has always studied and diligently conducted his own research in everything that gained his interest and convictions. Adams says: "I love learning more than everything else that life has to offer." In 2012 he went back to school to learn about computers and did independent studies in a wide variety of subjects, including piano, voice, mathematics, ceramics, anthropology, and Hawaiian language and also sang with the College Chorus. He graduated with honors in 2013 with a Certificate in Fine Arts. The next year he continued his current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship intending to graduate in 2021.

His serious interest in music has been his only worthwhile distraction throughout his life. He has been singing in choirs since elementary school, playing the piano since he was 3 years of age, and the accordion since 1956. Today he has a 7 ft. Yamaha C-5 grand piano and 5 accordions including a custom handmade Excelsior Grand with 12 sets of reeds. In October of 1990, he was the first one on stage to open the show for Sammy Hagar (The Red Rocker) at the grand opening of The Cabo Wabo Cantina, in Cabo San Lucas, Baja, Mexico. In fact, he opened for Van Halen! Loren returned on 2 other occasions in October of 1996 to open the show at Sammy's Birthday Bash, and again in 1997. Sam always introduces him as "The best bleeping accordion player on the planet."

While he has often thought of being a concert pianist, he admits that "he hates airplanes, airports, and large crowds," so his ambitions have toned down to just doing private recitals for church and friends of the family. His interest in choral music continues to this day and he is an active member of The Maui Chamber Orchestra & Chorus and The Maui Choral Society. He loves to sing, so he is the Choir Director at church, where he also sings solos for special events.

As a fine art publisher, Mr. Adams has excelled at the global distribution and sales of his certified limited edition prints, at world-record prices. His primary dealer in Japan has over 200 locations worldwide, so the question of how many countries do have Adams' signed and numbered prints is unknown; especially since he produced and sold them over 3,200 of his different images of his own original paintings. His exporting continued from 1989 through 2001 making him a legend of good report internationally. He also has several of his originals published by Haddad's of Anaheim, California that have been distributed globally since 1976. To this day hundreds of websites worldwide are still offering these photomechanical prints of outstanding quality – for which Adams gets a royalty check for the rest of his life.

The year 1976 was when he began a series of 26 full page color ads in Southwest Art Magazine. This successful campaign was phenomenal since each and every original painting he advertised in this popular periodical sold within 2 weeks after the release of the magazine. And none other than Richard Norton III bought 5 of these originals, which led to perhaps one of the most important honors in Loren's life. The R.W. Norton Art Gallery and Museum in Shreveport, Louisiana, mounted a major Retrospective Exhibition of over 100 of Loren Adams originals in 1979 and published a color catalogue of the entire exhibit: Loren D. Adams, Jr., A Retrospective Exhibition. The exhibit lasted for 45 days from January 21st through March 4th and had the second largest attendance in the history of the museum – second only to Augustus Rodin. They have the largest collection of Rodin in America. The museum also purchased two of Loren's masterworks for their permanent collection, Solitude and The Burning Image.

In 1981 he did the album cover for Dean Mc Nichols Wurlitzer on the Waves. Mc Nichols played the organ on The Haven Of Rest broadcast hour on NPR: National Public Radio for 35 years. Adams also did the album covers for several other musicians including Meryl Frankenhauser's Return to Mu in 1996 – the man who wrote "Wipe Out," just to mention one other project Loren enjoyed.

Loren Adams is included in several books and publications, with more than just honorable mention. Harold & Peggy Samuels Contemporary Art in America, Artists of Hawaii, and The Southwest Art Directory. He has been a member of the International Who's Who community since his inclusion in the 1981 volume Men of Achievement, published by the International Biographical Society of Cambridge, England. He is included in most of the international Who's Who registries, and was recognized as a 2013 Covington Who's Who Professional of the Year, and The Artist of the Year in 2014. He has been profiled in The Marquis Global Directory of Who's Who, Marquis Who's Who in America, and Marquis Who's Who in American Art.

He is a founding lifetime member of The Western Arts Society of British Columbia. He was formally presented to the Royal Family, namely Lord & Lady Dundee at the Queen Mother's favorite charity ball and auction, where Mr. Adams had donated one of his limited editions of Telos-Mu. Loren was the honored guest; both he and his lovely wife Patricia sat at the head table with the Royals, and were featured with them on the front page of the Montreal newspaper the next day. Lord Dundee, Commander-n-Chief of Her Majesty's Black Watch Society, allowed Loren to dance with his wife Darva Dundee, who accepted a colored portfolio of all of Loren Adams' certified limited editions for inclusion in The Queen's Library at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

He is an ordained High Priest, an active member of The Elder's Quorum and Makawao Ward Council, Ward Mission Leader, and Choir Director of the combined Makawao & Pukalani Ward, Kahului Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

In 2017 senior member, James Finlay, of The International Society of Appraisers, began the formal appraisal of the artist's personal collection of over 100 original oil paintings and objet d'art by Loren D. Adams, Jr. Since most of his clients and collectors hold his very beautiful artworks in such high esteem, they are likely to be passed down to family rather than ever go to auction. Since there are not too many auction records, the Director of The International Society of Appraisers made a ruling that all of the art in The Loren Adams Collection would be evaluated and appraised at full market Value (FMV), a ruling rarely considered for a living artist. The resulting appraisal was substantial enough for the artist's grand patron, Bob Allen Lee, of Houston, Texas and his partner David Miles, of Western Spherical Developers in League City, Texas, in conjunction with Tony Webber, CEO of Southwest Museum Services of Houston, Texas to agree to purchase the entire collection and build The Loren Adams Museum, Gallery, and Gift Shop in League City/Houston, Texas, as part of a mega complex, Epi Center adjacent to Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center. It is projected to open in July of 2022.

In addition to Mr. Adams' gifts and talents, his personal interests include theology, philosophy, psychology, architecture, pre history, ancient history, public speaking, multi-track recording, missionary work, and family. He is happily married with children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
