Mr. Virdi honed his business skills in a variety of entrepreneurial ventures prior to managing Aequor Group. Previously, he worked at Home Box Office, Inc. and Embassy CES in the area of information technology. Beyond his primary roles, Mr. Virdi serves on the Board of the Aequor Group of Companies, member of the Zoning and Adjustment Board of Marlboro Township, New Jersey and a member of the Board of Trustees of Ranney School in Tinton Falls, NJ.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Virdi and his family came to the United States in 1992 from Delhi, India. His father, Kuldip Virdi, emphasized the value of hard work and education, which inspired him to pursue an education at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 1998. Following this accomplishment, he obtained a Master of Science in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2000. Additionally, Mr. Virdi attended Columbia University and became an Alumni of Columbia University after completing his Executive Education Program Certificate in Business Excellence.
At the age of 31, Mr. Virdi was announced as the recipient of the 2008 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award, presented by the Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC). The awards honored Asian American entrepreneurs and executives with great achievements in business nationwide. The 2008 awards recognized achievements from 2007 and was the first and largest business award program for the Asian American business community.
In addition, for his continued success in business, Mr. Virdi received the "Entrepreneur of the Year 2013" award at the Annual World Sikh Awards held in London, England, in 2013. The award recognized individuals who have made exceptional financial returns, shown strong growth, innovative strategies and clear market leadership in their sector and whose contributions have made an exceptional difference on a local or global scale, in any field such as financial, medical, technology, government or legal.
