Mr. Zucker is renowned as a lawyer with more than 40 years of practice specializing in financing affordable housing. He decided at an early age that he wanted to pursue a career in law. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in economics, summa cum laude, in 1973. Mr. Zucker received his Juris Doctor at the University of Pennsylvania in 1977.
Since 1977, Mr. Zucker has excelled as a partner of Hawkins, Delafield, & Wood LLP, in New York City. His exemplary work has included a 1987 initiative by New York to finance low-income housing for homeless persons and very low-income families, and the creation of a low-income housing finance authority in the Virgin Islands. He was the first Chairman of the Bond Finance Practice Division of the Forum of Affordable Housing and Community Development Law of the American Bar Association "ABA." He is a Life Fellow of the ABA, and he served as the Chair of the Public Finance Committee of the State and Local Government Committee from 1996 to 1998. He was President of the National Association of Bond Lawyers from 1999 to 2001. Admitted to practice law by the New York State Bar Association since 1978, Mr. Zucker is also a trustee of the Citizens Budget Commission.
Mr. Zucker is the author of numerous articles published in professional journals, as well as the five Editions of "ABCs of Housing Bonds." Honored among Lawdragon Magazine's 500 Leading Lawyers for three consecutive years, as well as one of the 500 Leading Lawyer-Dealmakers by such publications.
