In her current role as COO, she oversees the strategy and operations of the Fulfillment, Marketing, Credit Risk and Post-Closing departments. Under her leadership at FGMC, Gonzalez has managed profits and losses for all areas of the firm and increased operational efficiencies by 50%. Her strategic leadership and ability to build effective teams, implement business process outsourcing plans, and drive large technology initiatives are key reasons for FGMC's success.
Her expertise comes from an extensive background in leadership roles throughout the mortgage industry over the last 10 years. Before coming to FGMC, Gonzalez served as the Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Operations at Stearns Lending, where she was able to increase efficiencies by 40-50% with BPO initiatives and vendor oversight. During her time at Stearns Lending, she also led the Correspondent Division as Senior Vice President of Correspondent Operations and the Vice President of Change Management. In those positions, she oversaw Delegated Correspondent Operations and spearheaded the implementation of a LOS System. Her leadership experience also includes roles as Vice President of Correspondent Operations at Citi and Assistant Vice President of Manufacturing Quality Assurance at Bank of America.
In a career filled with highlights, Gonzalez is most proud of being recognized as a Woman of Influence by HousingWire in 2019. This prestigious award is presented to high-achieving women who are moving the U.S. housing economy forward. She has also been recognized as a 2019 Keystone finalist for the Cultural Leadership Award by the Five Star Institute and honored among 75 Elite Women by Mortgage Professional of America in 2017. Gonzalez is also an active member of the National Association of Professional Women and the Mortgage Bankers Association.
As a mother, executive leader, and mentor, Gonzalez says her success is a direct result of her proactive and enthusiastic nature, innovative thinking and ability to empower others to meet their full potential. Her people-first mentality has led her to spearhead FGMC's first charitable initiative by supporting CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and to volunteer as a sister for Women for Women International.
