Throughout his career, he has found success in business litigation, workouts, creditor's rights and business and asset acquisitions and sales, including matters involving bankrupt and financially troubled companies. Previously, he worked for more than 15 years with Sims Moss Kline & Davis LLP after serving as a partner with Holland & Knight from 1995 until 1996. Earlier, Mr. Sims contributed his wealth of expertise to partner positions with Branch, Pike & Ganz from 1990 until 1995, Wildman, Harrold et al from 1985 until 1990 and Lefkoff, Pike & Sims between 1977 and 1985. Mr. Sims began his career as an associate for Kaler, Karesh & Frankel, where he eventually accepted the post of a partner as well.
Before pursuing a career in law, Mr. Sims obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of Mississippi in 1967. He subsequently graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Columbia University in 1970. Subsequently, Mr. Sims admitted to practice law through the State Bar of Georgia, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the District of Columbia Bar Association, the New York Bar Association, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New Yorkand the Supreme Court of the United States.
To remain aware active among his professional circles, Mr. Sims has maintained his alignment with the Old Warhorse Lawyers Club and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta. He has been celebrated many times for his efforts in law, earning AV peer review ratings for approximately 30 consecutive years. Sims was further featured in the 9th edition of Who's Who in American Law in 1996.
