Drawing upon a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Missouri State University and a Doctor of Philosophy in physical chemistry from Texas A&M University, Dr. Harthcock commenced his career in 1982, when he joined The Dow Chemical Company in Freeport, Texas. Hired as a Senior Research Chemist, he ascended the ranks to become a Research Manager of the Polymer Materials Research Center in 1990 and of North America Styrenic Copolymers R&D in 1993. Departing from the multi-billion dollar corporation in 1997, Dr. Harthcock was a Research Manager and global re-engineering leader of Engineering Thermoplastics-Polystyrene R&D.
From 1997 to 2000, Dr. Harthcock served General Electric (GE) Plastics in Mount Vernon, Indiana, as a global Analytical and Characterization Technology Manager. During his appointment, he emerged as a Six Sigma champion and achieved ISO and A2LA quality certifications. For the following decade, he served L&L Products, Inc., in Romeo, Michigan, in a myriad of roles, including Director of Research and Development, as well as adding roles as the corporate leader of strategic planning, and the pioneering Director of America's Aerospace Business. From there, Dr. Harthcock was employed by Schneller LLC in Kent, Ohio (a TransDigm company) as the Director of Engineering & Quality between 2010 and 2019.
Beginning in 2019, Dr. Harthcock has served as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Solutions by Harthcock Associates LLC. Establishing the business to bring unprecedented value through innovative solutions, the company is focused on product innovation and development, quality improvements, problem solving, research & development and engineering management, business leadership, management and facilitation. Alongside his primary endeavors, Dr. Harthcock is also an External Advisory and Development Council member of the Texas A&M College of Science, member on the Board of Trustees of the Missouri State University Foundation (also serving on the Upward and Onward Campaign Cabinet) and an Advisory Board Member of the Missouri State University Department of Chemistry. Likewise, he is a former Board Director of Recordings for the Blind and the Dyslexic. Over the course of his career, he has maintained his affiliation with the American Chemical Society, Society of Plastics Engineers, Society of Automotive Engineers and American Society for Quality.
Looking toward the future, Dr. Harthcock intends to develop and progress his company even further, through developing relationships with his clients.
