Having garnered considerable expertise in estate planning, Mr. Ingold retired from his career as an attorney after more than 40 years of exemplary performance. He attended Southwest Baptist University, graduating in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served as an infantry and logistics officer and as a judge advocate on active duty until 1981, and then continued in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve until his retirement in 1994.
Mr. Ingold graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree in 1978, was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1978 and completed a Master of Business Administration degree from National University in 1981.
From 1981 until 1983, Mr. Ingold served as a litigation attorney with Freeman, Fredrick, Bennet, and Rogers in Springfield. He taught business law at Southwest Missouri State University from 1982 to 1983 and in 1984 became a vice president at Southwest Baptist University where he served on the president's cabinet with responsibilities for legal affairs, university advancement and planned giving until his retirement in 2005. From 1984 to 2016, Mr. Ingold found success as the managing attorney of Robert G. Ingold, Attorney at Law LLC. Throughout his career, Mr. Ingold was a frequent writer and presenter on personal financial planning and topics related to estate and probate law. Since 2017, Mr. Ingold has been a senior partner with the firm of Appleby Healy.
Eminently qualified, Mr. Ingold is credentialed as a chartered life underwriter, chartered financial consultant, and certified fundraising executive. He is the co-founder of the Wellspring Baptist Church of Bolivar, Missouri, co-founder of the Missouri Baptist Development Council, co-parliamentarian of the Missouri Baptist Convention and Chairman of Deacons at Second Baptist Church, Springfield. Mr. Ingold's professional and community memberships have included the Missouri Bar Association, Greene County Estate Planning Council, Bolivar and Southside Kiwanis, and Gideon's International. Since 2012, Mr. Ingold has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Southwest Baptist University.
