After serving with the U.S. Army as a personnel specialist, an administrative specialist and a broadcast journalist during the 1970s, Ms. MacQueen began her career with United States Armed Forces' American Forces Radio and Television Service as a radio traffic specialist in 1980. Subsequently, she held such positions as a radio production specialist, a supervising broadcast support specialist, a broadcast support manager, an internal information manager, and a news and sports specialist with the aforementioned service. She further worked as the owner of The Keilani Company and Ladysmythe Handcrafts. Although her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. MacQueen is especially proud of her U.S. Army assignment in radio and television broadcasting in Vicenza, Italy.
In the early 1980s, Ms. MacQueen earned an Associate of Arts in liberal arts from Los Angeles Valley College. Moreover, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in liberal studies from Excelsior College in 1993. She additionally pursued postgraduate work through California State University, San Bernardino in 1998. In 2002, Ms. MacQueen became certified in interior design through the University of California Riverside.
Ms. MacQueen retains her professional alignment with Women in Military Service for America. Previously, she maintained her affiliation with the American Society of Interior Designers, the Armed Forces Broadcasters Association and the Association of the United States Army. An innovative creator, Ms. MacQueen authored "Sweet Pea Teddy Bear" in 1995.
For her military excellence, Ms. MacQueen has been honored with the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and two Good Conduct Medals. Accepting the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, she has been notably featured in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
