In 1983, Mr. Wendel E. Willmann was nominated and selected by the school board to the Parma Schools Hall of Fame.

An esteemed attorney of more than 30 years, Mr. Willmann contributed for the majority of his legal career as a partner at Willmann and James in Cleveland. Prior to acquiring a law degree, he served as a high school teacher in Parma and Fairview between 1959 and 1972. Mr. Willmann subsequently found success as a salesman for Connecticut General Life between 1966 and 1967.
A community leader on numerous initiatives, Mr. Willmann excelled as the vice president of the Parma School Board. He devoted himself further to education as a board member and the president of the Fairview Teachers Association, as well as a member on the board of regents for his alma mater, Capital University. Likewise, he volunteered his time for numerous religious efforts, including as a volunteer for the Parma Hunger Center, the chairman of the Parma Lutheran Church and a board director of the Trinity Lutheran Seminary. Additionally, Mr. Willmann held various roles with the Lutheran Children's Aid Society, the Parma Hospital Health Care Foundation, the Lutheran Children's Aid and Family Services, the Parma Area Chamber of Commerce and the Parma Kiwanis Club.
Among his many successes in the legal field, Mr. Willmann's greatest achievement was winning a medical malpractice case which resulted in a settlement of $10.7 million – the largest case he had ever handled. Long before this culmination of his career, he had aspired to become a lawyer while coming of age. However, after acquiring a bachelor's degree, he was drafted for six months into the U.S. Army, and remained active for five years as a reservist. Following the conclusion of his military service, Mr. Willmann decided to work as a teacher for over a decade, and eventually returned to school in order to realize his original ambitions.
An alumnus of Capital University, Mr. Willmann received a Bachelor of Arts in 1957. He later acquired a Master of Arts in education at Kent State University in 1963 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence at Cleveland Marshall Law School in 1969. Mr. Willmann has been admitted to practice by the Ohio Bar Association, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Willmann maintained his affiliation with several industry-related organizations, including the American Bar Association, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Ohio Association of Trial Lawyers and the Ohio State Bar Association.
In 1983, he was nominated and selected by the school board to the Parma Schools Hall of Fame. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Willmann has been featured in the 20th and 21st editions of Who's Who in the Midwest.
