Now retired, Mr. Mallard distinguished himself as the president of Mallard and Associates for over 25 successful years in the financial services field until 2010. A marketing expert, he formerly worked as a national merchandise manager for Ambassador International in Phoenix from 1983 to 1984. Mr. Mallard was also aligned for 20 years with Montgomery Ward and Company in Kansas City as senior catalog merchandiser and in Chicago as national buyer between 1962 and 1982 and with Jones Store Company as an assistant buyer in Kansas City from 1959 until 1961.
Mr. Mallard has served in numerous prestigious positions within his community. Selected as the event coordinator for the annual Royal Air Force Cadet Memorial Service in Mesa for eight years beginning in 2010, he also contributed his time as both Chairman of Council on Ministries, 1989-90 and Chairman of Administrative Council, 1993-94 at St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Mesa. Among other roles, he was a lay member of the Northern Illinois Conference Board of Missions in Chicago, 1972-80 and the treasurer and a board director of the Prairie Village Jaycees in Kansas, 1966-67. Between 1959 and 1965, Mr. Mallard served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve before being honorably discharged. During his service, he was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis from 1961 to 1962 by President John F. Kennedy.
Since 2006 before retiring, Mr. Mallard has volunteered as a storm spotter for the Phoenix office of the National Weather Service. He has always been intrigued by the subject of meteorology, and considered studying the subject while in college but followed a different career path instead. An alumnus of the University of Texas at Austin, Mr. Mallard notably holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing administration since 1959.
Mr. Mallard has been a colonel in the Commemorative Air Force since 2001, and is a former member of Rotary International (2004-14). He served as President of Chandler North Rotary in Arizona, 2008-09. He remains a life member of the Ex-Students Association of The University of Texas. A celebrated Marquis listee, he has been included in the 23rd and 24th editions of Who's Who in the West.
