Jamia Alexander-Williams strives to work with schools and community organizations to bring services closer to those who need them.
MAYLENE, AL, March 09, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jamia Alexander-Williams has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Ms. Alexander-Williams is renowned as the founder of the Angel Warriors Foundation, an organization that provides community-based support to persons with special needs and their families. Having recognized that members of the community with special needs or multiple medical diagnoses were frequently left with few resources, or resources that were too difficult to access, she strives to work with schools and community organizations to bring services closer to those who need them in her present post. Ms. Alexander-Williams credits her exceptional success to her faith in God.
Prior to beginning her work in the nonprofit sector, Ms. Alexander-Williams enjoyed a career in software systems engineering. She initially pursued an education at Alabama A&M University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in computer science in 1995. Ms. Alexander-Williams subsequently earned a Master of Science in information systems from Strayer University.
From 1995 to 1996, Ms. Alexander-Williams began her career as an image scanner and a corporate registration specialist for Colonial Mortgage Company in Montgomery, AL. In 1996, Working as a system engineer for I-Net from 1996 to 1997, she served as a system engineer for DSD Laboratories. She further flourished as a software systems engineer for EDS in Birmingham, AL, from 1998 to 2002, and a UNIX system administrator for the company from 2002 to 2005. Ms. Alexander-Williams was additionally active as a systems administrator for HealthSouth of Birmingham from 2005 to 2007, at which point she accepted the position of a systems engineer for Wachovia Bank/Wells Fargo, a post in which she excels to this day.
Ms. Alexander-Williams has also found success in various posts with the Alabaster City School Board and the Alabaster Sports & Entertainment Foundation. She has been notably recognized as the Citizen of the Year by the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, she was presented with an Alabama Local Spotlight Award for her work with the Angel Warriors Foundation. Likewise, Ms. Alexander-Williams is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
