Having accrued more than 35 years of experience as a leader in the health care and mental health care field, Ms. Titus earned distinction as a nurse and social worker across the length of her career. Originally hired by the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor in 1955 as a staff nurse on the neuropsychiatry unit, she later found success with local doctor's office in Lawrence, Kansas, until 1966. Transitioning into social work thereafter, Ms. Titus was hired by the El Paso County School District #11 in Colorado Springs in 1968, where she remained for more than 20 years until her retirement.
Ms. Titus held several industry related positions during her career. During the late 1970s, she maintained activity as a field instructor at the University of Denver between 1978 and 1979. Following this appointment, from 1989 until 1991, she served as the chairperson of the department of social work for School District #11 and as a member of the High-Risk Intervention Task Force in Colorado Springs. A prolific scholar, Ms. Titus has contributed several articles to various professional publications in her area of expertise as well.
Ms. Titus received a Bachelor of Science in nursing at the University of Michigan in 1955. She later completed a Master of Science in social work at The Ohio State University in 1968. Eminently qualified in her field of expertise, Ms. Titus is a registered nurse in the states of Colorado and Michigan and a licensed social worker in Colorado.
A passionate community advocate, Ms. Titus served as a volunteer at a local senior center in the computer lab. She also taught courses at the First Lutheran Church in the Springs. To remain aware of developments in her field, she has been active as a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
