Briefly working as an engineering consultant before realizing that his passion lay in law, he subsequently obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence at DePaul University in 1963. Completing further postgraduate coursework at the UIC John Marshall Law School from 1963 to 1965, Mr. Muskal is registered to practice law before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
From 1963 to 1971, Mr. Muskal began his career as an associate of the predecessor of Leydig, Voit, & Mayer, Ltd. He found further success as a shareholder in the aforementioned firm and the vice president from 1971 to 2017. Since 2018, Mr. Muskal has found success of counsel at Leydig, Voit, & Mayer, Ltd.
Among other distinctions, Mr. Muskal holds a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating, and has been recognized in a peer survey among the Top Lawyers in Intellectual Property Law. He is active as a member of the American Bar Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
