After first falling in love with the surgical field during her medical rotation, Dr. Lynd began her storied career, culminating in her current work as a plastic surgeon at the Cook County Hospital in association with the University of Illinois at Chicago. Previously, she gained valuable expertise as an associate physician at Rockefeller University from 1995 to 2000 and as a general surgeon for the State University of New York at Brooklyn's Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center between 1993 and 1999. Throughout her career, Dr. Lynd has also parlayed her knowledge to others as a frequent presenter in the field.
Before embarking upon her professional path, Dr. Lynd obtained a Bachelor of Arts in biology and chemistry in 1991 and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Missouri in 1993. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, she is affiliated with the American Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons, the Medical Society of the State of New York, the National Board of Medical Examiners, the Illinois State Medical Society, the American Society of Plastic Surgery, the Santa Clara County Medical Society, and the California Medical Society.
For her outstanding efforts in the medical field, Dr. Lynd was presented with the First Place Prize from the Resident's Paper Competition Clinical Division at the NY/Brooklyn Committee on Trauma, and a Service Award from the York Organ Donor Network. In addition, she was recognized as an Outstanding Surgical Trainee from the British Journal of Surgery. Looking toward the future, Dr. Lynd intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career and is currently CDR in the Reeves United States Medical Corp. in addition to her practice. She is Battalion Surgeon to a Marine Infantry Unit. Finally, she holds an MBA (2016) and MPH (2000) from George Washington University in D.C.
