Prior to becoming a full-time consultant, Dr. Roberts worked as the managing director of PRoberts Engineering Enterprise Pty Ltd (a registered electrical contracting company) between 1985 and 1994. Previously, he gained valuable expertise in the field as a project-engineering manager for Nampak Ltd and as an engineer in training for Rand Mines Ltd. during the 1980s. In order to remain aware of changes in the field of engineering, Dr. Roberts retains his professional alignment with the South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering.
In pursuit of his aspirations, Dr. Roberts earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering (cum Laude) and a Doctor of Philosophy in engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. Additionally, he received a Certificate of Competency Mines and Works through the Department of Mineral and Energy Affairs, and a Certificate of Competency Factories, Machinery and Building Works through the Department of Labor in South Africa. Dr. Roberts has written and presented a number of technical and training papers internationally, as well as having developed an array of patents. Dr. Roberts's expertise extends over a range of engineering fields. Looking toward the future, Dr. Roberts intends to return to academia and teach the next generation of technology professionals.
