Dr. Emmanuel McCall is a recipient of the American Baptist College's E.Y. Mullins Humanitarian Award.

Dr. McCall is renowned as a Baptist minister and administrator with 60 years of service to his faith community. Called to ministry at a young age, he initially rejected the idea due to negative experiences of his grandfather, who was a pastor. Earning a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisville, he was ordained to ministry in the Valley Baptist Church in 1959. He continued his studies at the Southern Baptist Seminary, obtaining a Master of Divinity in 1962 and a Master of Religious Education in 1963. Dr. McCall concluded his academic efforts with a Doctor of Ministry at Emory University in 1976.
From 1954 to 1960, Dr. McCall began his career as the associate pastor of Joshua Tabernacle Baptist Church in Louisville. He found further success as a pastor of the 28th Street Baptist Church from 1960 to 1968, at which point he was recruited to the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Dr. McCall would flourish with the aforementioned board as an associate director from 1968 to 1974, a department director from 1975 to 1988 and a division director from 1988 to 1991.
Dr. McCall notably excelled as the pastor of the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church of Atlanta from 1991 to 2004, and the First Baptist Church of East Point from 2006 to 2010. He served as the interim pastor of Atlanta's Historic Friendship Baptist Church from 2013 to 2015 before returning to First Baptist from 2016 until his retirement from ministry in 2019. In addition to his pastoral work, Dr. McCall is a former adjunct faculty at Mercer University and has been active as a visiting professor at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
The author of three books, Dr. McCall has contributed his wealth of knowledge to chapters for more than a dozen other books. Moreover, he is a recipient of the American Baptist College's E.Y. Mullins Humanitarian Award. Likewise, Dr. McCall was presented with an honorary Doctor of Divinity by Hardin Simmons University in 2016 and the E.Y. Mallins Distinguished Denominational Award from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and the TB Master Ethics Award.
