BRENTWOOD, CA, April 02, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Steve Zabriskie with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Zabriskie celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Zabriskie is renowned as a 3-time Emmy Award winning broadcast sports announcer with a career spanning more than 30 years. He initially pursued an education at the University of Houston on a football scholarship, but injuries quickly forced him to retire. Faced with the choice to refocus his career to either broadcasting or coaching, he settled on broadcasting, as he was beginning to develop a professional reputation for his earlier ventures in the field. Notably, Mr. Zabriskie considers the highlight of his career to be the Mets winning of the 1986 World Series. He served as Mets television play-by-play announcer from 1983 through 1989.

Mr. Zabriskie began his career in sports announcing at Seattle's Station KGDN-KBIQ Radio in 1967. He subsequently provided commentary for Station KTRH-Radio in Houston through 1968, and Station KHFI-TV in Austin, Texas, from 1968 to 1970. He further flourished as a broadcaster with Station KVUE-TV in Austin from 1970 to 1971 and Station KTUL-TV in Tulsa from 1971 to 1973. Mr. Zabriskie later excelled as a freelance sports commentator in the Los Angeles market in 1974 and 1975.

In 1976, Mr. Zabriskie accepted the position of an announcer for Station WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh. He later found success with ABC-TV Sports in New York City, where he would remain active until 1997. Moreover, Mr. Zabriskie has worked as a play-by-play announcer for outlets including CBS Sports, ESPN from 1990 to 1993, The Baseball Network in 1994 and 1995, and the play-by-play announcer for the Boston Red Sox during their 1996 and 1997 seasons. He retired from broadcasting at the end of 1997 and has gone on to a successful career as a Registered Financial Advisor.
