Initially obtaining a Bachelor of Arts from Pomona College, he subsequently earned a Doctor of Medicine at the Chicago Medical School Finch University of Health Sciences in 1989. Following these accomplishments, he completed an internship and transitional residency at Columbus Hospital from 1989 to 1990, and a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Chicago Hospitals from 1990 to 1993. Furthermore, Dr. Jackson is licensed to practice medicine in two U.S. States, and remains certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Since 2002, Dr. Jackson has excelled as a clinical assistant for the University of Chicago Hospitals. He was additionally active as the director of the Illinois Medical Center Vision Correction Center in Chicago from 2002 to 2004. Dr. Jackson has further flourished as the chief executive officer of Jackson Eye, an ophthalmology practice that he founded in 1993, as well as the global medical director of Ace Vision Group.
Dr. Jackson's diligent work has been instrumental in the development of LASIK/PRK surgery technology, and he has trained more than 700 clinicians on the procedure. He is an esteemed member of the editorial board of several journals, including Advanced Ocular Care, Ocular Surgery News, Ophthalmology Management and Cataract and Refractive Surgery Today.
