From 1967 until 1971, Dr. Lasseter completed an internship and residency in medicine at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He joined the University of Miami Medical School in 1971 and worked as an assistant professor, advancing to the position of an associate professor of pharmacology and medicine. Dr. Lasseter later became a clinical associate professor in 1981, and would remain with the university in this capacity until 2010.
Dr. Lasseter has found success as an adjunct associate professor of pharmacology at Barry University since 1986. He is the former vice president and medical director of the Clinical Pharmacology Association Inc, and Clinical Pharmacology of Miami Inc. He contributes frequently to professional journals, and has been honored for his work with such accolades as the William B. Peck Research Award from the Interstate Postgraduate Medical Association and a research award from Alpha Omega Alpha.
