An acclaimed data analyst and GIS expert, Mr. Gelwicks currently serves as a GIS specialist for AECOM, an infrastructure firm that delivers professional services through the project lifecycle of projects spanning such industries as transportation, governments, energy and the environment. In his role with AECOM, he supports the quality assurance team by performing geospatial quality assurance work for various state, county and local ortho-imagery, LiDAR, plainmetric and unmanned aerial system projects, including the FEMA Open Space program, the Texas Natural Resources Information System and the Maryland Department of Information Technology Orthophotography Project. Prior to his tenure with AECOM, Mr. Gelwicks flourished as a senior digital imaging analyst for Fugro Geospatial Inc. from 1999 until 2012 and from 2014 until 2017.
Additionally, Mr. Gelwicks gained valuable expertise in data analysis, electronic engineering and cartography through his work as an electronic technician for General Dynamics Robotic Systems, a cartographer with The Atlantic Group and Randy McNally & Company and as a cartographic technician for Greenhorne & O'Mara. In pursuit of his aspirations, Mr. Gelwicks earned a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 1985.
