NEW CANAAN, CT, April 09, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Fred Campano with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Campano celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Having accrued more than 55 years of inimitable expertise in the fields of economics and mathematics, Mr. Campano has garnered a laudable reputation as a lecturer at Fordham University since 1997. Specializing in economic forecasting and development, he originally worked as a mathematician at Stanford Research Institute in Melo Park, California, in 1964. He later became an economist in 1967, when he was recruited by the United Nations (UN) to work in the economics projections section of the department of economic and social affairs. Over the subsequent 30 years, Mr. Campano served as a senior economics' affairs officer and later as the chief of the economics projections section, until 1996.

Mr. Campano began teaching while still employed with the UN. Hired to teach within the graduate business program at Fordham, he contributed for the next 20 years parleying his knowledge of economics and mathematics to students. Beginning as an adjunct professor in 1997, Mr. Campano advanced to become a professor of economics in 2000.

During his long and successful career in the industry, Mr. Campano enjoyed working alongside several notable economists at the UN. To wit, he collaborated with Jan Tinbergen, who was the chairman of the committee for development programming, Vassily Leontiev, the former supervisor of a joint program between the UN and New York University that modeled environmental concerns in world production, and Lawrence R. Klein, who implemented a short-term economic forecasting program. Mr. Campano also had the opportunity to provide his expertise as a consultant in his area of expertise. Furthermore, he extended his services to his local community, where he was active on the board of education for Darien Public Schools in Connecticut.

Mr. Campano co-authored the 2006 book "Income Distribution" with Dominick Salvatore, which was based on developing economics. Written primarily as a textbook intended for undergraduate economics majors, the material also meets the needs of first year graduate students, as well as sociologists and political scientists who are primarily interested in the related social justice topics of income inequality and poverty. Each chapter is logically connected with the preceding chapters, providing a general overview of income distribution and its applications. Mr. Campano also contributed a chapter in the 1995 book "A First Step Towards Normalizing the Gini Coefficient" and has authored several scholarly articles in such professional journals as the Global Economic Journal.

An alumnus of Stanford University, Mr. Campano acquired both a Bachelor of Science in mathematics in 1963 and a Master of Science in statistics in 1966. Prior to acquiring his degrees, he served for four years in the U.S. Air Force as an airborne radio repairman. Mr. Campano has been aligned with the American Economic Association for nearly a decade. A celebrated Marquis listee, he has been included in the 61st edition of Who's Who in America.
