Thierry Viquerat is an expert in crisis management and the difficulties of SMEs. Since 1993 he has headed the specialized consulting firm "FIPME Conseil" in Paris. He has been President of the Intervention Fund for SMEs (FIPME) SAS Paris since 2011, and Director of Restructuring for the ATLAYS Consulting Firm (Paris) since 2017. He has been a member of the Compagnie des Conseils-Experts Financiers since 2006, of the French Society of Financial Analysts (SFAF) and the Academy of Accounting and Financial Sciences and Techniques.
His research and communication action on the management of business difficulties declined from 1993 through his professional practice in the Liberal Cabinet, education, publications of dozens of press articles (technical articles , forums, interviews, and books, chronicles on Radio BFM and conferences in Paris and Brussels as well as speeches at numerous conferences in France and Brussels.
Thierry Viquerat was born in 1960 to a teacher mother and an engineer father. He grew up in Arles. He graduated from the Institut Supérieur de Gestion (Paris) in 1983. He lives in Paris.

In 1995, Thierry Viquerat published a column in Initiatives Magazine using and proposing the acronym "TPE" for "Very Small Enterprises". He claims to be the first to have used it (in a published article), which will be the subject of an interview in the ZURBAN magazine in 2000 titled "Thierry Viquerat, inventor of the TPE". He will then continue in the long term to promote this concept of TPE, in the new era, by defending the idea that specific management principles must be applied to them, including for the management of their difficulties, and will endeavor to make evolve the culture and the public and actors of the economy look towards failure, bankruptcy, collective proceedings, to overcome the cultural principle which considers too easily that a bankrupt business manager is either incompetent or dishonest. He will defend the idea of a specific education in Universities and Business Schools (creation of subjects and training modules dedicated in SME management, SME Strategy and management of SME difficulties), and of a general ecosystem adapted to VSEs (banks, administrative simplification, prevention of difficulties in commercial jurisdictions) which will be achieved gradually.
He published in 1999 "Initiation to Crisis Management of Small Businesses" (L'Harmattan) as well as many press articles, in France and Belgium, from 2000, which popularize and develop these theses.
In 2002 in Brussels, he participated alongside Olivier Khan (chartered accountant) and under the authority of the Minister of Economy and Employment Benoît Cerexhe, in the creation of the Center for Enterprises in Difficulty, which supports entrepreneurs of the Brussels-Capital Region and which still operates today in 2019.
He will collaborate regularly from 2000 to 2010 with the magazine L'Entreprise (Groupe l'Express) and will be a regular columnist in "crisis management of VSE SMEs" of the show L'Entreprise BFM from 2007 to 2016, broadcast on BFM Business (Presenter Philippe Bloch).
Among the recurring themes addressed, he repeatedly denounces for more than 10 years the existence of a Banque de France rating "040" which stigmatizes and "prohibits to manage de facto and without any judicial conviction", the leaders who experienced bankruptcy. It will initiate a lobbying and communication action against this listing, by signaling the perverse effects of this system to the public authorities. The latter will finally be removed by the Minister Fleur Pellerin in September 2013, which will "free" nearly 150,000 business leaders from an unjustified sanction.
He is responsible for the "Business" program of the political party "PACE" (Party of European Citizens), and candidate on the party's list for the 2019 European elections.
Teaching: In addition to his consulting activities, he teaches at the Higher Institute of Management (Strategy-SME 1996-2000), at the University of Paris IX Dauphine (Difficulty of SMEs 2001-2008).
After the Guadeloupe Chamber of Trades mandated him to install a device called "Local Pact for very small businesses" with the Guadeloupe lawyer Patrick ADELAÏDE, he published (co-author Patrick ADELAÏDE – Ed ° Publibook 2002) a report ("La Chance TPE - Recommendations for public and parapublic actions in favor of VSEs from a Guadeloupe experience" (Publibook 2002).
In 2009, he published a novel "17 Fins Tragiques" (Ed ° Séguier - Paris).
He published (released in April 2020) a second novel "Ubiquitus" (Ed ° Filidalo - Paris).
He was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor in 2014.
