Ms. Dickey is renowned as an adjunct professor of education and a former school administrator with a career spanning more than five decades. She initially pursued an education at North Texas State University, obtained a Bachelor of Science in elementary education in 1963 and a Master of Education in elementary supervision in 1966. Ms. Dickey subsequently completed additional postgraduate coursework at Texas Woman's University in 1983, with a mid-management certification.
State certified as a teacher for grades one through eight and all administrator grades PK through twelve, Ms. Dickey began her career as a teacher and then as a teaching/assistant principal in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford School District. She formally transitioned into school administration as an assistant principal for Keller Independent School District, serving in the Whitley Elementary School and then Shady Grove Elementary School. Ms. Dickey further flourished as the principal of Whitley Road Elementary before shifting her focus toward higher education, teaching at the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University as a Supervisor of Student Teachers for out-of-area students who wish to do their student teaching in this area of Texas.
Currently, Ms. Dickey remains as an adjunct professor of education for student teaching supervision for out-of-area student teachers. In addition to her exemplary work in administration, she found success as an adult ESL teacher with the Ft. Worth ISD 5 county COOP from 1989 through 1999. Starting as an ACT and SAT test proctor for Keller High School from 1994 through 1999, she then became an ACT/SAT Test Supervisor for the high school from 2000 until 2012, and then continued as SAT Test Supervisor until 2018. A member of the Texas State Teachers Association, Lifetime Member of (TEPSA) Texas State Administrators Association and a Texas PTA Lifetime Honorary Member, Ms. Dickey is additionally affiliated with the Delta Kappa Gamma Educators Association, which recently honored her 50 years of membership.
