Dr. Urayama is renowned as an internist specializing in gastroenterology. He initially pursued an education at the University of Washington, graduating with a Bachelor of Science, with honors, in 1988. Dr. Urayama subsequently earned a Doctor of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1992.
From 1992 to 1995, Dr. Urayama began his career and completed as an Internal Medicine Resident at Seattle's Virginia Mason Medical Center. In 1995, he was selected and started a fellowship in Division of Gastroenterology at the University of Chicago. After completing the training, in 1999, he joined as a faculty member at Univeristy of California, Davis, where he's carrying out clinical as well as translational research in the field to this day. Moreover, Dr. Urayama is recognized as a diplomate in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
