In 1984, Dr. Edward Fraser Searing was invited and attended the first Principal's Center Conversation at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

An accomplished listee, Dr. Searing celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Having accrued more than 30 years of expertise in his professional field, Dr. Searing retired from his position as an educator and academic administrator in 2004. Aligned with School District 21 in Wheeling, Illinois, he taught for six years and in 1977 was promoted to an administrator where he remained until 2004. Just prior to retiring from the school system, Dr. Searing began working as a traffic reporter and helicopter pilot reporting traffic for STAR 105.5 in 2003. He provided another seven years as a commercial pilot with WW Helicopters in East Troy, Wisconsin, until 2011.

During his teaching career, Dr. Searing found success as the director of Northwest Suburban Principals Center in Arlington Heights, Illinois, and the director of the board of Taknosys Software Corporation. Through his community, he volunteered his time on the advisory board of State of Illinois Administrative Academy (North Cook) and, among other roles, was the vice president of Lake Zurich Youth Baseball Association. Dr. Searing has maintained his professional membership with several educational organizations, including the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. He is also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association. Additionally, he is an active member of several honorary societies, including Kappa Delta Phi and Phi Delta Kappa.

A graduate of the Kemper Military School and College in Missouri, Dr. Searing attained an Associate of Arts in 1963. He subsequently attended the University of Miami, from which he received a Bachelor of Art in history in 1967 before serving four years in the military as a Marine officer and Naval Aviator between 1966 and 1970. This service included 13 months in Viet Nam. Returning to college, he was accepted to the National College of Education at National Louis University in Chicago where he completed a Master of Art in education in 1971. He concluded his academic efforts at Northern Illinois University, where he attained a Doctor of Education in 1993. Eminently qualified in his field, Dr. Searing has earned certification as a teacher and administrator, and holds a commercial pilot license.

In 1984, Dr. Searing was invited and attended the first Principal's Center Conversation at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The week-long event included various activities and discussions on teaching and administrative roles, which he regarded as a very rewarding opportunity. In 1989, he was nominated for a Parent Teacher Award. His school was also nominated by the state for the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program, a U.S. Department of Education award program that recognizes public and private schools on a yearly basis. While in the military, Dr. Searing completed 850 combat missions, was recognized over 40 times with Air Medals, and received a Naval Unit Commendation, a Meritorious Unit Commendation and a Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
