Established in 2008, her company has garnered a laudable reputation for her unique line of earrings, cuffs, necklaces and other sophisticated pieces of jewelry. Much of Ms. Tessing's jewelry encompasses a blend of textured materials with precious metals, gems, plastics and other forms.
Ms. Tessing is the former principal and owner of Tessing Design Inc. in Chicago, having maintained involvement for more than 25 years between 1980 and 2006. She also contributed for many years on behalf of various publishing and communications companies throughout Chicago, including as a designer and art director for Stevens Biondi Decicci Inc., Playboy Enterprises Inc. and Grant-Jacoby Inc. in Chicago. Well-regarded in her local community, Ms. Tessing was bestowed with a Friend Award in 1990 and a Founder Award in 1997 from the Women in Design Chicago.
A native of Chicago, Ms. Tessing attended college in Illinois, attaining a Bachelor of Science in visual design at the Illinois Institute of Technology and Design in 1968. Years later, she acquired a Master of Business Administration in marketing at Loyola University in 1986. Since concluding her academic efforts, Ms. Tessing has distinguished herself as a member of the Lillstreet Art Center. She is also a former president of the Society of Typographic Arts, former vice president of communications and design of the International Association of Business Communicators and founder and former two-time president of Women in Design Chicago.
